BTG Consistency Sensors

DRT-5500 FREENESS INLINE

Accurate freeness measurement enables pulp and papermakers to identify causes of pulp variation. The DRT-5500 Freeness Inline with its revolutionary new technology helps adjust furnish components, amount of recycled pulp and refiner load, and thus minimize or eliminate pulp variations.

Improved uniformity of pulp drainage on the wire leads to efficient drying and less load on the refiner, thus, reduced energy costs. Furthermore, pulp and paper mill productivity will be increased and paper quality improved.

The new DRT-5500 is the most robust, the most flexible and the smallest unit to provide freeness values in CSF and °SR. One unit serves for all applications.

Features and benefits

  • Installation independent from pipe angle gives highest installation flexibility.
  • Its compact design makes installation and handling very comfortable.
  • Due to single point measurement it provides fastest results and thus the tightest possible control.
  • Direct measurement compensated for consistency and temperature variations guarantees highly reliable results.
  • With only 14 kg (30.9 lb) the lightest and smallest unit in place.
  • Modular design facilitates servicing.
  • Compatible to previous installations.
  • Improved automatic cleaning with 50 °C warm water leads to drastically prolonged manual cleaning intervals.

KNA-5300
AN ESSENTIAL TOOL FOR CONTROL OF THE FIBERLINE

The NEW KNA-5300 (Kappa Number Analyzer) facilitates frequent sampling of pulp throughout the fiber line. It includes sample processing devices that perform careful washing and measurement of lignin for pulp samples. It includes a Windows 7, PC-based service and maintenance tool with graphical displays, data trending, diagnostics, configuration, and calibration support. The PLC controller supports the most modern communication from the KNA-5300 to the mill's DSC and includes an OPC server.

KNA-5300 sets the standard for fast sampling from an entire fiber line.

  • The fast and accurate analyzer can handle sampling from eight sample points in a standard configuration.
  • Handles all types of chemical pulp and consistencies up to 15%
  • Monitoring for control of digesters, oxygen delignification, bleaching, and washing
  • Accurate measuring of kappa number and fiber size
  • High-performance sampling with eight sampling points as standard, step-by-step expandable to cover an entire fiber line
  • Stand-alone operation with a menu-driven operator interface with full functionality, and also with communication to DCS /process computers.

MFA-5000 MORFITRAC

The MFA-5000 Morphology Fiber & Shive Analyzer or MorfiTrac has been developed to sample and analyze pulp fibers, vessels, shives and fines in the process automatically and continuously. The system measures batchwisesamples from a maximum of eight sampling points.

The MorfiTrac is a research and quality control tool to completely characterize fiber morphology. Furthermore, it can be applied to control refiners and also to control the fiber mix ratio.

The analysis is done on a fiber network, so that the measurement takes place in the fiber's natural unrestrained environment.

The MorfiTrac allows for highly accurate and reliable statistical evaluation of important fiber characteristics such as curls and kinks, as in each batch it measures thousands of fibers.

Features

  • Quick measurements: three to five minutes per batch
  • Reliable: Several thousands of fibers are analyzed in three minutes
  • Accurate
  • Easy and rapid implementation
  • No plugging of the measurement cell, due to regular automatic flushing
  • Easy maintenance
  • User-friendly Windows software and 17" display
  • Robust construction

RPA-5000 RESIDULAL PEROXIDE ANALYZER

BTG's RPA-5000 Residual Peroxide Analyzer measures inline and gives you accurate, sophisticated control over your bleaching process.

RPA-5000 selectively measures peroxide levels, and is applicable in any bleaching process where peroxide is used.

Its enzyme-based catalytic measurement method gives quick and accurate results.

Features

  • real-time control - results in 3,5 - 5 minutes
  • measures 5-5000 ppm
  • only measures peroxide - insensitive to temperature, pH and suspended solids
  • almost maintenance- and calibration-free
